Tempeststar sighed as she watched the sun finally sink below the horizon. She listened to the birds as they twittered farewell to the sun and settled in for sleep, eyes gazing at the stars as they began to wake from sleep. Each light, a soul of a cat that had once wandered among them. She knew that her mother, great grandmother...everyone she cared about was up there. She knew that they were watching, keeping an eye on her and the Clan. She just came to this spot every day at sunrise and sunset to bid them good morn and good eve each day. She had not had any of them walk in her dreams since her leadership ceremony that had left her with so many questions...
No matter, they would be answered when the Cats Above decided they would enlighten her. She sent a good morning in a silent prayer to Stonestar and her parents, hoping that they would watch over her clan as she was sure they always did. Tempeststar looked up one more time, hoping to see some sign, but none came. Her sunset ritual complete, she headed back down from the mountain peak, trekking down the boulders with well practiced ease.
The she-cat came upon the camp, gazing across the quiet space. Most cats were sleeping, although there were the night owls like her. She slept very little, so being up at all hours was nothing new to her. Her mossy orbs caught movement coming from Warrior's Den, and turned to watch one of her clanmates escape the maze of sleeping cats. She walked to stretch and groom himself as the bengaled she-cat gazed from her high perch. The cat walked to the main entrence and relieved the guard that was already there. Ah, a simple switch of the watch...
The fae pondered for a moment what she felt like doing. She was by no means ready for sleep, but there was nothing for her to attend to in camp. She could go out looking for herbs, but she had already found a new patch of wild garlic earlier. She felt bad about taking tasks from her medicine cat, but herbs and healing craft had always tickled her fancy. She made up her mind that she would go down and join the tom below for a hunt. She hopped down the cascade of rocks and landed lightly on the common area. She flexed her talons for a second in a semi-stretch, then glanced about. Where was everyone, especially at this early evening hour...
